Terms
How quotes, payment, cancellation and guarantees work.
Who you contract with
Quotes and contracts are with S&K Property Investments and Improvement Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number 16932889, registered office Unit 1 Hembs Crescent, Great Barr, Birmingham B43 5DG, trading as External Wall Insulation and part of the S&K Group.
Guide prices and quotes
Prices on this website, including from the guide-price tool, are guides only. A quote is fixed only once it is issued in writing after a survey, and it states what is included. Quotes are valid for 30 days unless they say otherwise.
Payment
Our standard terms are a 50% deposit when you accept the quote, 40% on the first day of installation and the 10% balance on satisfactory completion. Your quote confirms the terms for your job.
Your right to cancel
If you agree a contract with us away from our premises or at a distance, you have 14 days to cancel, and we refund any deposit you have paid in full within 14 days of you telling us. We won't start work in that period unless you ask us to in writing. If you do ask us to start early and then cancel within the 14 days, you pay a proportionate amount for the work done up to the point you tell us. Your contract explains how to cancel.
Changes and extra work
If hidden problems are found, such as unsound render or damaged masonry, or you ask for changes, we agree the cost with you in writing before doing the extra work.
Planning and building control
We arrange building control for the work. We tell you at survey if planning permission or other consent looks likely to be needed; obtaining permission for your property remains your responsibility unless your quote says we will apply for it.
Guarantees
The guarantee terms for your job, who provides them and what they cover are set out in writing with your quote. Your statutory rights are not affected.
Images and information
Photographs on this website are computer-generated to show typical work and are not photographs of our completed jobs. Information on regulations and funding was checked when published and may change; we confirm what applies to your property at survey.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can bring proceedings in your own courts and keep the protection of your local law.
